Aarhus, Denmark - March 31st 2023 - MedicQuant has secured over DKK 12 million to further develop its groundbreaking technology for faster stroke treatment.
Stroke is a major and growing societal burden. Globally, strokes cause over 5 million deaths each year and leave many with chronic disabilities. Rapid treatment is crucial, and MedicQuant’s innovative platform aims to quickly and accurately measure anticoagulant drug levels, significantly reducing current testing times.
“Our mission is to provide doctors with precise results within 10 minutes at the point of care, enabling much faster treatment,” said CEO Line Debois. “This technology has the potential to save lives and improve the quality of life for stroke patients.”
The new funding—from professional business angels and venture funds, including EIFO—will accelerate technology development and validation studies with hospitals in Denmark and internationally. These studies will help ensure that the technology meets the highest standards and can be effectively integrated into clinical practice.
Christian Anker-Ladefoged from Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) commented, “MedicQuant has developed a unique technology that addresses a real problem in stroke treatment. Their platform has potential in other disease areas, making them a strong player in the global healthcare market.”
MedicQuant’s technology is not only limited to measuring anticoagulants but also has broader applications in other medical fields. The platform can quantify small molecule drugs directly from whole blood within minutes.
